Activities:
Kaaterskill Falls is a beautiful waterfall nearby. Enjoy its hiking to the bottom of the falls… or just do the easy walk at the top to its viewing platform. You can even swim here so bring your bathing suit!
Colgate Lake is our favorite swimming spot! Go early in the day and you can even have the whole place to yourself. Enjoy its surrounding mountains and views.
Big Deep Swimming Hole is another nearby spot to take a dip in Woodstock.
Overlook Mountain is one of the more popular hiking spots upstate. Make it to the top where there is an old fire tower to climb!
Tremper Mountain offers another nearby hike in Phoenicia + another fire tower!
Bars & Breweries:
Woodstock Brewing, a local brewery with amazing beer + good food, is right down the road.
West Kill Brewing, another local brewery, has most amazing mountain views and even more amazing beer.
Brunette Wine Bar is straight out of your Instagram feed. Located in nearby Kingston, it’s a perfect spot for a midday snack and glass of wine.
Early Terrible is a cocktail bar in downtown Woodstock. Great outdoor seating!
A & P Bar is another cocktail bar in downtown Woodstock. Great drinks!
R&R Taproom has good beer and cocktails and has outdoor seating right on the river in Woodstock.
Restaurants:
Phoenicia Diner is one of the most famous spots in the Catskills! Don’t expect just your average diner food. It’s only open for breakfast and lunch and gets crowded quickly so go sooner rather than later.
Peekamoose Restaurant is a nearby farm to table restaurant that is known as one of the “finest” restaurants upstate.
Cucina, in nearby Woodstock, is an Italian restaurant in a cute old farmhouse. Highly recommend!
Shindig, also in Woodstock, is good for brunch! Amazing grilled cheese.
SILVIA has contemporary American food and a nice deck to eat on. Also in Woodstock!
